EXCLUSIVE: Top Private Banker In Asia, Africa Departs

This publication can exclusively report that Rajesh Malkani, regional head, private banking for Africa, MENAP and South Asia at , is leaving the bank at the end of the month. A source had told this publication of the departure last week and the UK-listed bank confirmed the exit today. “An announcement on the regional head of Africa & Middle East and Europe will be made separately in due course. We thank Rajesh for his significant contributions to the Bank and wish him well in his future endeavours,” a spokesperson for the bank said. Malkani was appointed to his latest role in 1 October, 2014. He joined the bank in 2006 as global head of sales for its private banking business and was appointed as head of private bank South East Asia in 2008.
With more than 20 years of experience in private banking, he previously worked at BNP Paribas Private Bank in Hong Kong and Singapore between 1996 and 2006 where his last role was head of Southeast Asia. Malkani also worked with UBS Private Banking in Hong Kong.
